Painting in Cortona
Last spring, I had the privilege to study art in the beautiful town of Cortona, Italy. It has been the most incredible experience and source of inspiration being surrounded by nature, the Italian culture, and sweet friends to study art by my side. During my time there, I took abstract painting, ceramics, film photography, and art history.

Here are a few of my oil paintings from my abstract painting class! For this series, I wanted to explore botanical forms that I’ve observed in Cortona and moments of time spent together captured through tablescapes.

Floral color study using a limited color pallet of only yellow ochre and venetian red (+ black & white). For this study, I wanted to see how far I could stretch this limited pallet using the same image of a bouquet of flowers looking out into the garden in our dorm room.
